Provincial & Local Burning Information
Town of Gillam Council and Fire Chief are removing the fire pit permit suspension within the Town of Gillam municipality effective 8:00 pm June 20. Fires will be allowed between the hours of 8:00 pm and 8:00 am, and only in permitted, inspected fire pits. As wildfire conditions are still considered very high, it is extremely important to use caution when burning, even in approved pits. Always have an adequate fire suppression plan and method in place. There is still a restriction on open burning and fireworks.
To obtain a fire pit permit and have it inspected, contact Fire Chief Mario Catalano at 204-617-7416.
The Province of Manitoba has also reduced their restrictions. ATV travel remains restricted.
