The Bette Winner Public Library is located at 235 Mattonnabee Ave. (Rec Centre) and is open to all residents of the community and visitors alike. The objective of the Bette Winner Public Library is to select, organize and to have available a variety of material which will aid in the pursuit of education, information, research, recreation and in creative use of leisure time. The goal of the library is the maximum use of its collection by the greatest number of people.
The library has available to borrow current books, literary kits, and BluRays/DVDs. Through the inter-library loan program, the library staff can request from other libraries books or publications that our library does not have in our collection. There are also 2 public access computers for patrons to access the internet, this service is available free of charge during regular hours of operation.
The library provides various services to the community for a small fee. These services include photocopying, faxing and special book orders. The library has a meeting room available for rental. We also provide exam invigilation service. Please contact the library for current pricing of these services.
The Bette Winner Public Library Board of Directors and Staff host various Special Events throughout the year. The Christmas Craft Sale is always a much-anticipated event by one and all. The Bunny Parade raises funds for CancerCare Manitoba. Story and craft time for children of pre-school age is a program which introduces the children and their caregivers to the library. Pop-up library can be found at various community events.
Membership is available free of charge to all residents of Gillam and Fox Lake. A conditional membership is granted when an applicant does not meet the requirements of the application process. This entitles the conditional member to borrow 1 book at a time. Children under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian complete a junior membership application.

ashes of colonialism and we uphold the return to their ancestral Swampy
Cree traditions.
