The Town would like to thank you for your continued patience as we work to get the Rec Center up and running. Due to a total of 5 compressor failures since the new ice plant was installed and lingering effects of the fire on the rink surface, it has been a struggle for the staff to not only create the ice, but to test the ice surface and ensure that it is safe for all users. The status of these conditions has fluctuated daily and sometimes hourly making it difficult to provide reliable information.
As of today, it has become necessary to involve the insurance company and further concrete surface specialists as the ice is not adhering safely to the rink surface. We are working extremely hard to get this resolved and it is a top priority for staff and council.
Further updates on significant changes will be given, but we ask for understanding as the process is very unpredictable. For any inquiries as to the current daily status, please contact Tom Zelenesky, Town Superintendent (firstname.lastname@example.org or 204-652-7229).
