The Town of Gillam has several major events throughout the year. All are sure to be a great time for your family to enjoy!
Winter Carnival (Mid March)
a week long carnival in Gillam that is fun for the whole family. Includes events such as our strongman competition, playdough/lego contest, cake decorating competition, entertainment and more. This event coincides with the Hudson Bay Quest Dog Sled race.
Canada Day Celebrations (July 1st)
Happy Birthday Canada! Come out and celebrate her birthday at the community Ball Diamonds. Hot dogs, hamburgers, cake, games, horseshoe, face painting and more!
Terry Fox Run (second Sunday in Sept)
Terry Fox vision lives on in all of us. Join your community members on this day to run for the cure!
Registration Night (early - mid Sept)
Registration night is held once per year. Come down to the rec and get your family organized and registered for a winter time full of leisure activities and sports
Welcome Back Weekend (First Saturday, following the Long Wknd)
Welcome back to the community! This event is a wind up to summer, the beginning of the fall/winter season. A day long (Saturday) event full of fun and festivities for the whole family! Bouncers, BBQ fundraiser, Cribbage Tournament, Entertainment and last but not least FIREWORKS!
There are various events going on at Halloween, put on by many of the fundraising groups around Gillam. Check for notices around town!
Santa Claus Parade (end of November)
Christmas wouldn't be complete without a town parade. You can enter your own float by contacting the Rec Programmer at 204-652-3168 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Join us after the parade at the Rec Centre for hot chocolate and a visit with santa!
Bette Winner Public Library Christmas Craft Sale (mid November)
This is a very popular event, held by the local Library. A great way to do some Christmas shopping and sample some delicious baking from different vendors. You can contact the library at 204-652-2617 to find out more.
Skate with Santa (December)
Sometimes Santa is able to stop in at the Rec Centre for a skate with the kids! You never know when he will be able to make an appearance! Check often for updates!
